The Nambucca Heads Bowling & Recreation Club Limited was formed
in 1949. The initial Clubhouse was built with voluntary labour and was situated
where No.1 green is today. In 1974 the “new” Clubhouse was built
with various extensions being added over the years. The Club is often simply
called the Nambucca Bowling Club or Nambowlo and has three (3) superb tiff dwarf
greens with two (2) available to be played under lights. The Club utilises its
own bore water for irrigation and strives to be environmentally friendly utilising
natural fertilisers and ecological pest control with minimum chemical applications
to control disease only once it is detected as opposed to preventative chemicals.
The Club currently has approximately 2000 members and it is proud to maintain
over 500 bowlers in the Men’s and Women’s Bowling Club’s.

The Club maintains a 360 square metre Auditorium which may be screened
from the rest of the Club to host large scale conventions, functions, training
courses, indoor bowls, Bingo and Line dancing. The local Country Music Club
holds a monthly “jam session” the last Sunday afternoon of each
month. The Dining Room adjoins the auditorium and caters for A-La-Carte meals,
Bistro meals and smaller intimate functions as required. An “all you can
eat” Family Buffet is provided at the Club every Friday and Sunday evening
from 6.00pm to 8.00pm. |
Other special “meal deals” in addition to the extensive
A-La-Carte menu are offered daily.
Local produce is regularly sourced from the Valley including macadamia nuts
and local beef. Our “home cooked” style desserts are always well
received by all (when did you last enjoy trifle, bread & butter pudding
or apple crumble). Also, an excellent selection of very reasonably priced wines
are available to compliment your meal.
Club wagering facilities include TAB and KENO with patrons viewing racing and
other sports on SKY CHANNEL or AUSTAR SPORTS throughout the Club.
